Vocabulary
- presentation-A formal or an informal report, usually given orally, which is sometimes referred to as a "talk" or a "speech".
- thumbnails-A samll-size view of a slide in a Power-Point presentation. Thumabails appear on the slides tab,in slide sorter view, and in various task panes.
- splitter bars-In Power-Point, one of the narrow bars that seperate the left,slide, and notes panes in normal view.
- title slide-The first slide in a Power-Point presentation that displays the main topic of the presentation.
- title-In a Power-Point, the main topic of a presentationor slide;the first line of text on a slide.
- placeholder-In Word, formatted text within a template file that you can replace with your own text.
- title area-In a Power-Point, a place-holder that reserves space for a slide's title.
- text area-In Power-Point, a place-holder that reserves space for a subtitle or a numbered or bulleted list.
- object area- a place-holder ona Power-Point slide that is reserving space for objects such as tables,charts,or graphic images.
- Rich Text Format-(RTF) a file format with the extension.rtf that enables the text in a file to be transferred and read by different applications; most word processing programs can read RTF.
- AutoContent Wizard-a tool to help Power-Point users create a presentation easily by using a set of preprogrammed slide layouts,a designs template,and boilerplate text.
- boilerplate text-Standard text that is appropiate for the type of presentation selected when using Power Point's AutoConentWizard.
- indent level-In Power-Point, a number that indicates the indent and importance of a subtitle in relation to the title.
- promote-In Power-Point,to raise the level of a subtitle so that it has a smaller indent(or no indent at all)and a larger type size.
- demote-In Power-Point, to lower the levelof a subtitle so that it has a larger indent and a smaller type size.
- object-In Power-Point, a nontext element such as a chart,table,clip art image,picture,photo,movie clip, or another type of information.
- subtitle-In Power-Point,any text in one or two columns,or a bulleted item in a list, that follows the title and gives more detail about the title.
